Halloween 2013

October 23, 2013

This year’s Hallowe’en celebrations at Forestside will be the biggest yet. We have activities this year for young and old alike.

The activities will take place on Saturday 26th October and then we will have some of our favourite visitors on mall on Thursday 31st.

The main event on Saturday will incorporate Octoberfest which is a not for profit event run by Castlereagh Borough Council. The event will take place in a marquee in Forestside’s car park and will include food sampling from a selection of our local restaurants and a competition for the grown ups with some great prizes such as a free round of golf at Caslereagh Hills or Mount Ober Golf Club or a free Sunday carvery lunch for two at the Ramada. The Poet have donated dinner for two and there are loads more fantastic prizes to be won.

Of course Hallowe’en is all about kids and they certainly won’t be forgotten. The marquee will have a kids corner with Hallowe’en story tellers, face painters and arts & crafts and of course a wicked kids competition. Your little ones could be in with a chance of winning a candyfloss party, a pantomime pass for up to 6 people donated by the Belvoir Players, a free pass to Aunt Sandra’s show for a family of 4 or an Aunt Sandra’s hamper worth £15. These activities will take place on Saturday 26th October from 12-4pm but that’s not all.

Inside, on the mall itself, from 1-5pm we are really pleased to welcome back Party Animals NI who are masters of Hallowe’en frights with their creepy crawlies, snakes and scorpions and more! We are installing a Climbing Wall at the M&S end of the mall so that anyone brave enough can scale the scary heights if they dare! We also have face painters and ‘Spot The Spook’ treasure hunt run by NI Hospice who are our chosen charity for October.

Thursday 31st will see the Face Painters and Party Animals return from 1-5pm along with ‘Create your own Mask’ and ‘Melodic’ will make a welcome return to sing Disney classics for the young and not so young.

All proceeds from the Hallowe’en activities will be donated to NI Hospice and we’d love to see you there.

So come join us if you can, if you dare…
