U105 Town Tour.

October 16, 2013

Forestside was delighted to host the U105 Town Tour Bus on Saturday 5th October. It was the final stop on a week long tour for the radio personalities which started at Stormont and visited Kennedy Centre, Carrickfergus Castle, Bloomfield and Boucher Road shopping areas amongst other destinations. Forestside was the grand finale to the event and a further £20,000 was added to their total on Saturday alone.

The event so far has raised £120,000 for the Northern Ireland Hospice rebuild. This huge amount is the most ever raised by U105 for charity although in the 5 years that they have partnered with NI Hospice they have raised over £400,000. An amazing achievement.

Forestside customers were treated to appearances from Frank Mitchell, Carolyn Stewart, Maurice Jay, Johnny Hero and the inimitable Julian Simmons who was hilarious as ever.

NI Hospice is Forestside’s nominated charity for October so £20,000 is a terrific start to the month. Thanks to everyone who came down on the day or made a donation on radio. Our charities this year will change month by month for the fifteen months of Forestside’s Fifteen Fest. Last month was the first month and the nominated charity was Tiny Life who raised over £3,000 thanks to the generosity of Forestside customers.
