Music in May At Forestside

June 10, 2016

May was a busy month for Forestside Music with two more of our young singer songwriters recording their original tracks for Forestside SoundCloud and another Unplugged session in Caffè Nero with mentor Sam Leeson.

Ben and Michael James played for the Caffè Nero customers alongside Sam who is quickly establishing himself on the Belfast Music scene. This exposure and live unplugged sessions provide great experience for our guys who, not only get more stage time; but also they learn how to set up tune up, how to mic to accompany other artists and the ultimate adrenaline buzz from live performances without a script or a set list. This can be incredibly helpful for them to establish a stage presence and the ease of performance which comes with experience.

We also recorded Johnson and Ciara’s original tracks for our SoundCloud channel which adds to their on line body of work and helps to promote them to any scouts or labels. The SoundCloud feed only uploads professionally mixed and mastered high quality files which can be shared in CD quality thus giving them an instant professional level track which is good enough for radio play or general release. Both Johnson’s and Ciara’s tracks are outstanding and well worth a listen.

Our search for the next Young Songwriter competition will begin in October when we will once again be inviting under 19 year olds to enter & perform their original track on mall and the winners will go on to perform at next year’s Panarts Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival along with a cash prize, ongoing Unplugged sessions, SoundCloud tracks and Youtube professional video. We will also be taking as many of the entries as we can, forward to the UK Young Songwriters competition. If you think this is you or know of anyone who deserves the chance to make it big in the music business please do get in touch.
